We have multi-tier support options and while most of the incidents can be resolved by our engineers located here in Massachusetts, some technologically complex incidents such as ones with encryption take our RnD getting involved. We also do have, however, a tool that can help verify encryption module compatibility with specific hardware and advise on doing that before rolling out the encryption on that hardware.
KASPERSKY ENDPOINT 10 WINDOWS 10 UPDATE
We do encounter some compatibility issues every now and then and than we update the incompatible hardware list, just as you described. I'm calling on Charlie (Kaspersky) who can confirm or correct me. My understanding that the anniversary update does not require to remove our solution from the machine updated. Again, this will soon be a distant memory for those who would leverage the BitLocker management functionality we are introducing.

After encryption task is started, the computer doesn't have to stay connected or on the encryption will resume automatically and will carry on even if offline. As you mentioned, this can be done almost completely automatically (decryption task -> update task -> encryption task).
KASPERSKY ENDPOINT 10 WINDOWS 10 SOFTWARE
The need for re-encryption is there because we take every precaution not to turn our software into a file shredder and whenever we update the authentication module, we require to reencrypt. This will solve both compatibility & need for re-encryption issues you mentioned. We are adding BitLocker management to KSC. This is addressed in SP2 - we are both changing how the name will be displayed and how the plugins will work (single plugin for all versions). The version of product should reflect that (10.). In MR3 the SC plugin stayed the same as in MR2 and that's the plugin that defines how the label is displayed. We actively work to resolve any possible issues, here are just some of the steps we are taking: I have a feeling like I received your feedback earlier through one of our partner managers and be assured this feedback reached RnD as will the feedback from this thread as well. I'm sorry to see you go as I feel there's a great deal of knowledge and experience with regards to our product and it's too bad we caused you the frustration. Hello phil.cardone, thanks for the feedback.
KASPERSKY ENDPOINT 10 WINDOWS 10 UPGRADE
If the license wasn't still valid for 2 more years, this client would also be moved over to BitDefender as well and we'd upgrade all machines needing encryption to Win10 with BitLocker, sooo much easier to manage and doesn't bog the machines down like KES does. It's been 6 hours since the decrypt started on most machines and they are at approx 54% complete. I'm in process of decrypting 80 machines right now to start the SP1 MR2 to SP1 MR3 update which will take me well into next week to finish. I've been using Kaspersky for over 10 years and this version 10 with Encryption has been a huge disappointment. Their tech support team keeps asking the same questions over and over when we have an issue, first send in all of the logs, wait a week, get level 3 involved from Russia, wait another week, Russia gets remoted into machine, wait 3 days for a response and the response is "Machine will be listed as not compatible on the compatibility guide".
KASPERSKY ENDPOINT 10 WINDOWS 10 INSTALL
Right now when you install SP1 MR3 in the Remote Installation the package still is hard labeled as SP1 MR2 (most likely a typo on their part) as when you install it and check it on a workstation it simply reads (MR3), not even (SP1 MR3).

They keep promising that they will remove the decrypt/encrypt steps but they haven't fixed it yet. Anniversary Update requires Kaspersky to be removed completely from the machine, updated, then reinstalled (including the decrypt/encrypt steps), it's such a mess. If you use the encryption module every single time they put out an update you have to decrypt, uninstall, then reinstall the update and re-encrypt. Good luck, we dumped Kaspersky all together because they can't get this software right.
